Six Race Days, five platforms, one overall leaderboard

Championship Format

The Mercedes-AMG Motorsport Virtual Championship is entering the third year, offering a one-of-a-kind virtual racing experience. The championship unites racing communities and allows drivers to compete against each other beyond their own title.

Choose between Assetto Corsa Competizione on console or PC, Gran Turismo 7, iRacing and the newly added Le Mans Ultimate.

Select your platform and title from Assetto Corsa Competizione (console or PC), Gran Turismo 7, iRacing, and the newly added Le Mans Ultimate. Fight for victory by winning your division and prove yourself as the best in your category. At the same time, you will be ranked against competitors across all four titles, earning points toward the overall Virtual Championship leaderboard and competing for the biggest prizes of the season.

The Virtual Championship offers more than 500 slots in total over the course of Season 02. Each title will be split into two divisions with offering 36 slots per division. However, Gran Turismo 7's Division 1 and Divsion 2 will be divided into three 12-driver splits (Div 1.1, 1.2, 1.3, 2.1, 2.2, 2.3) to accommodate for the available multiplayer lobby size.

The championship will leverage each title's individual benefits; thus, drivers will race on different tracks across the titles.

While Division 1 will compete throughout the full six Race Days with relegation to and promotion from Division 2 after three Race Days, Division 2 will be divided into two stages.

Stage 1 (the summer stage) comprises Race Day 1-3. Stage 2 (the autumn stage) comprises Race Day 4-6. The stages are to be considered independently of each other, meaning they do not count towards the same points scoring, only towards the overall Virtual Championship scoring. After completion of Race Day 3 and 6, a stage winner will be determined in Division 2 based on the stage points scoring. In every title, the top three from Division 2 will be promoted and the last three from Division 1 will be relegated.

Division 2 drivers, who are not promoted after Race Day 3 will have completed Stage 1 (Summer Stage). Stage 2 (Autumn Stage) of Division 2 will start with Race Day 4 and consist of the relegated drivers from Division 1 and a newly-raffled field out of previous Hot Laps contestants.

The prizes aim to provide drivers with a once-in-a-lifetime experience while showcasing the three pillars of Mercedes-AMG Motorsport in the fields of Formula 1, Customer Racing, and Virtual Motorsport up close – you don't want to miss this!

Additionally, the top three drivers of each division will receive a small prize for their achievements.

How to get one of the limited slots

Hot Laps

We know that sim racing is all about performance and who crosses the finish line first. However, the Virtual Championship aims to give drivers of various skill levels the chance to have a competitive experience.

To qualify for the Virtual Championship, you have to set one valid Hot Lap on Circuit de Spa-Francorchamps between June 19th 02:00 PM CEST and July 19th, 2026 via the in-game Hot Lap competitions integrated within each title. You have to choose one title from either Assetto Corsa Competizione on console or PC, Gran Turismo 7, iRacing or Le Mans Ultimate.

Once the Hot Lap phase ends on July 19th at 11:59 PM CEST, the fastest 36 drivers of each title will advance to the slots in Division 1. For Division 2, all remaining drivers will enter a raffle, from which drivers are drawn on a random basis.

While track choice differs across titles, each Race Day consists of either two sprint races on the same track within a title or one endurance race. After Race Day 3, promotion and relegation will come into place.
